BSMB was first held in 2001 and is the biggest business event in the Bishop’s Stortford calendar. It was founded to provide an opportunity for businesses large and small to present their goods and services to the people and other businesses in the area.  Buying locally is an excellent way to help the prosperity of the area to the benefit of us all.

Generous sponsorship from London Stansted Airport and East Herts Council means that the cost of participation is as low as possible, making it affordable for even small businesses to participate.

Organised by Marketing Kinetics, a Stortford-based marketing, design and event specialist, BSMB has been championing trade and commerce in the town for almost two decades. The ethos of the show has remained unchanged since it was launched in 2001; that is to support a strong local economy by encouraging both consumers and businesses in the area to buy from and use local firms, as well as giving local business people the chance to reach out and promote their brand and what they have to offer. “I wouldn’t miss it – I get to see a lot of my loyal customers in a single day, but I always meet a lot of potential new customers as well."

Vivienne Vaerliss of Associated Beverages, who has attended every BSMB since it started.

“We meet so many clients who we have treated in the past, and it is an ideal opportunity to explain to others how making the right diagnosis coupled with our unique treatments can very quickly bring recovery and pain relief.”

Attracting about 350 participants every year, BSMB is free to attend as a visitor and is open to all, whether you are considering setting up a business, are new to the area, contemplating the next step in your career or looking for a new supplier. Discover more about the day as a visitor here.

If you are interested in joining the show as an exhibitor you can find more here and book a stand online.

The event will be taking place on Wednesday 20 October 2021 South Mill Arts (formerly the Rhodes Arts Complex). The doors open at 10.  There is no charge for visitors to attend and the exhibitors will be on hand to explain what they can offer.
